Summer Reading

PSJA Reads- Summer Reading Program
Each summer, we invite students in grades PK4 through 12 for the incoming school year to join the PSJA
ISD Summer Reading Program. Our goal is to help them love reading and succeed in school.

Here's how it works:

1. Read Books
2. Log minutes on Beanstack
3. Get Rewards

Students can earn recognition and rewards when they return to school by logging in their reading minutes
on Beanstack from 6/7/25-8/15/25. One winner per grade level (PK4-12th) at each school will
be recognized at our district celebration.

Note for Parents / Caregivers:

Thank you for making reading and writing an important part of your child’s routine. Research shows that having language materials such as these at home reinforces the importance of daily reading, writing, and talking amongst everyone!

A reading app called Beanstack is available for your child to track the minutes they read this summer. Encourage your child to spend time after reading to talk through what they’ve learned and give them the chance react creatively through writing or drawing.

Gracias por hacer de la lectura y la escritura una parte importante de la rutina de su hijo. ¡Las investigaciones muestran que tener materiales lingüísticos como estos en casa refuerza la importancia de leer, escribir y hablar diariamente entre todos!

Una aplicación de lectura llamada Beanstack está disponible para que su hijo(a) registre los minutos que lee este verano. Anime a su hijo(a) a tomarse un tiempo después de leer para hablar sobre lo que ha aprendido y darle la oportunidad de reaccionar de manera creativa a través de la escritura o el dibujo.

Go to Clever.com and click login. Find your school and then login with your credentials.

Select the resource you want to use
Look for the icon with the resource you’d like to use. For our summer resource toolkit you can find
many resources inside the MackinVIA app.

Find resources in MackinVIA
Once you login to MackinVIA, you can navigate on the left side toolbar. You will find ebooks, audiobooks and instructional resources (databases.) To access resources like PebbleGo, National Geographic, etc. click on the instructional resources (databases) tab.

Our Summer Reading Program for secondary students offers an exciting opportunity to dive into diverse and engaging books, enhance your comprehension skills, and express your thoughts creatively. We have included a reading app (Beanstack) to track the minutes you read!  We encourage you to track any reading you do all throughout the summer 6/7/25-8/15/25.
